Comments: I just checked out my old PMQs on the new feature (87 Frontenac and 19 Stonehenge). Both look so different now...and very small - lol!
Our first house (87 Frontenac) was a really awful turquoise color with a big cement porch with white pillars, and if I remember right it was plaster or something like that on the outside. That porch is now gone and house looks re-sided. I don't know why I thought it would look the same all these years later, but I did. Funny.
Comments: Remenber when they droped small parachutes over the base and attached to the them where vochers for money or movie passes or candy. That was early in the sixty.I remenber all of us PMQ BRATS running for the parachutes.Where else can you have memories like this except Shilo.Does anyone else remember this? I also remember when a training jump happened over the base and we thought it was the small parachutes and we all ran over to get them not knowing that men where attached to the parachutes.I bet there where surprised to see a bunch of kids running after them.
Comments: Hi,our family(my brother's Barry,Joey, sister Darlene)lived at 48 Frontenac Street from 1969 to 1974. My father was Drum Major A.H. Butler (Sandy) and he was the conductor of the 3RCHA Band while we lived in Shilo.

Comments: Kudo's to Edie et al for the terrific "special feature" profile of the Howie brothers and the bands! It captures special memories for ALL of the Sixties' Brats everywhere!! They were such a huge part of that whole era in Shilo.

Comments: What ever happened to? … the Howie brothers, Brian and Bruce Howie, who delighted and inspired us with their music in the Sixties, forming Shilo’s first rock band ‘The Saints‘, and later in Winnipeg, ‘The Action‘
Edie has put together a new Special Edition to tell the story. Check out Special Edition in the side menu under Features.
