Laurie Marsden found two military websites that she thought might have photos of interest for some of us. One is Meteorology class photos from all years on all military bases in Canada (your dad might be in one) there is one from Shilo in 1963, now posted with names in the Artillery Instructors album in the Gallery, and from other bases, Trenton, Gagetown, Winnipeg etc. if you lived there, or your dad may have been sent there on course. The other site is a photo gallery of D-Day Veterans taken in 1989, maybe there's a relative there.

Laurie tried posting them in the Guestbook, but website URL’s won’t post in the Guestbook as a spam deterrent. They have been posted in InterActive! in the category News and Upcoming Events. Look under Military photo websites from Laurie Marsden.

I lived in Shilo from July 1963 to September 1969 at 3 Esquimalt Crescent. I have very fond memories of my time in Shilo and made many friends: Sheila Rowland, Pam Dent, Kay Schrot, Julie Laverty, Larry Connors, Jim Gradwell and many more. Ah, fond memories!!!

Thank you for your great response to the Where did you live in Shilo? features. Starting with the Shilo-opoly forum in InterActive! which is still going strong, the Gallery album has been building steadily and now we have teamed them up for the Where did you live? directory. See What’s New for details.

Some of the information at this point is from fuzzy memories and hearsay, and will be updated, corrected and added to periodically as new information comes forward. This will never be a perfect document, but is done in the spirit of fun and to have you involved with the site. What do you remember, tell us in the Guestbook, post in Shilo-opoly, or send your information or corrections privately in the Contact form.

Where did you live in Shilo?

Eagle eye Sue, you are right, that photo was taken from the Howie's driveway across the street, at 59 Alfriston in the mid-sixties, you will see another one with them in it there. The duplex beside it is 46 & 48 and you will see what that looks like today with the 48 Alfriston photo. What a difference!

If you are having trouble remembering your address, the PDF Close Up! Map of Shilo PMQ's magnifies indefinatly and can be accessed by clicking on the Map of Shilo PMQ's photo in the Where did you live in Shilo? Gallery album. Also if your neibours are listed in the photos and you remember where you lived in relation to them, that map helps to figure it out.
