Edie & Faye & to the rest of you BRATS out there. Yes Faye . Yes, that is true about fair play. But it would still be nice to see it on here too. ( There is more than one way to skin a cat );;;;;Dave ( OTTER ) would be saddened to see what is going on ( less chat on here).than what there is on Face Book. It is OK to use Face Book , but start to do a little chatting on here ( This WEB SITE ) too. Thanks all, this would put a smile on Daves (OTTER) face. Admin reply: Doug, I think you're absolutely right - Otter would be saddened to see what's going on; he created the website to get away from the crass commercialism, pop-up ads, privacy issues, and so on having to deal with free servers...yet here we are - right back where Otter was 10 years ago.

Edie; aren't I stirring up enough s--t to start people talking about using BRATS SITE. Some one go on FACE BOOK & try to tell them to get more interested in this WEB SITE, so it doesn't fade away. There are less & less people using this site, to talk to one another. Isn't what this site was made for, so people could & can stay in touch with one another & let people know how much they loved their lovely & special times there. Now it is only dreams & memories, because SHILO is not the same as it used to be ( big changes & not so grate now. Too many changes, SO SAD Just sweet memories ;;;(d);;;;;;; :!devil:

Wow, I head off to Vegas for a few days, and the guestbook is a-poppin! I should have confirmed in my treasure's update that no money goes to Facebook; it is all to service the website costs and to provide contributions to our military families charity. I am an avid Facebook user, as many many shilobrats are, but that doesn't mean we don't come to the site regularly. It is true, d, that the postings to the half dozen facebook groups do not generally make their way to the shilobrats website, but the reverse is also true. That is fair play in my opinion. We want to reach shilobrats wherever we can, and never fail to mention the website when on facebook. just sayin'.

Well, I can't tell you how HAPPY I am to hear these encouraging comments and the desire to keep our web site up and running. But you know, it takes CONTENT to keep a web site interesting and keeping people coming back to see WHAT'S NEW. We, the web team, can't invent it; it takes YOU, the viewer participating too. Bill, I haven't see your nice MUG in sometime now BECAUSE you're not on Face Book. :!cry:

Hi all I strongly support Bill G and D over not loosing this web page. While, I do use Facebook I would much rather come here for updates. I hope the committee running this page continue to focus their efforts here. Let the general public post things on Facebook.

Thanks Bill for the backup (help);; TO many people are stuck on FACE BOOK & besides that everybody knows what you are saying & going to do. I to would not like to loose this BRATS site. Not enough people using it ( sorry about the bad spelling )& it is a little d ; unless it is something important,but I should have had a big D for my comments the first time ;; So I will do both this time because it is important enough to do this;; Thanks again;; We need more people back on here;;;;;;;;; :!devil:

Thanks, D & Ken Jenkins regarding the dialogue around ShiloBrat's utilization of Facebook.

My wife and I, being of a certain vintage-just before the Ice Age, have resisted jumping into the use of Facebook, Twitter, etc. as a venue of communication (although a communication-cornerstone of our kids, nieces, nephews & grandkids.)

Why? Perhaps in sympathy with other folks of our age, we strongly value our privacy and security.

I will continue to support and enjoy this website, while hoping the "Guestbook" e-mail feature will not be excluded in the near term as a venue of contact/communication for the ShiloBrats.

That is a good question Doug, as there are a lot of Shilobrats not on Facebook.
There are no funds required to be on or to operate on Facebook. The ShiloBrats fund account is used for keeping the ShiloBrats web site online and now once a year making a $100.00 donation to the Shilo MFRC (Military Family Resource Centre) our designated charity. :!angel:
