Comments: I'm coming in to Brandon, Manitoba to visit my mom from September 6th to September 12th. Aside from September 10th, I would love it if a few shilobrats got together for a coffee or a beer on one of those afternoons, say from 4:00 pm to 6:00 or so. Anybody interested? Who's around then!! Email me, and we can pick a day!
Comments: my sister and i were born in shilo in the 1950's. WE were looking up family history in manitoba so we took a trip down memory lane. so leaving a messsage seemed great
Comments: Hello Karen, no sister, my younger brother Melvin and I lived off base in the trailer park. I joined the Navy in 1962 so only lived there s short time.

Comments: I'm happy to see that so many people are still finding this site, and posting on it. Ken Buchanan - In 1961 I was in a class with a Bettiann Buchanan. Would you be a relative? I remember she was tall and very smart, and I wonder what happened to her. Thanks.

Comments: Hi Jay. Bump here. BC resident also. ...Just a comment or two. ...I lived on Ubique from approx. 1951 to 1961. Went to the schools of course. ..Your Mums name is not familiar to me. I remember lots of stuff but alas the names of teachers and my classmates are lost to me now except for a few. Time and distance does that. Unfortunately I am not able to help but you have pointed out a very large void on this site that only can be resolved by more posters or memories being posted on this site. I think it is happening more now for sure but there is a lack of say photos from all the grades of our school years and individual photos of all of us ourselves who post here. Having said that there are many ShilobBrats that have done a good job of posting their family photos and memorabilia. ..My photos, and records are with my Mum now deceased and records passed on to my siblings. we are a country apart and very little do I see them. I have only a few Shilo pics. One of my self probably in Gr. 3 or 4 . Black and white school class photo.. We for sure need more of this stuff posted. I myself cannot offer up much to help you but have recognized some old names and classmates from what has been posted here. As time passes I am sure there will be much more on the site that way. What a blessing it would be to have more class photos. Goup or individual photos if they appear. I was 10 years old in 1958 and all my growing up was in Shilo until 1961. regards, bump Murphy.
Comments: Hi there, I'm looking for anyone who may have grown up with my mother on base between 58-62 her name was Gail Shannon and she would of been 7-11 years old then I'm looking for any memories or photographs as her 65th is coming up and I'd like to put a presentation together for her. She often talks about the fun she ha growing up there. I located a picture of her sister Pat in one of the choir photos but was looking for something more specific. Any correspondence would be greatly appreciated .
Thanks for your time.
Jay
