Comments: Hmmm. I thought that I heard of a murder suicide in the late 50s, but before 1958, on Frontenac Crescent. Anybody out there remember anything??
Comments: Me again. It seems as if I have too much time on my hands with 2 posts in a row but I am home recouperatng from ankle surgery. I mentioned in my very first post that I recall a murder suicide in Shilo in the early to mid fifties. It took place across on the other East)side of Royal Ave, down near the old H huts near a garbage shed. I believe it involved a young lady and soldier who lived in the single quarters near that area. That's all I remember but there must be someone out there with a better memory than mine.
Comments: Wow, I can't believe it's been 58 years ago that I moved to Shilo and almost 53 years since I left there. I will have to go back for old times sake. Happy New Years to all

Comments: Just thought I'd pass along some sad new this evening. I received a call from Mary Styan this morning saying that Don had passed away in hospital of a heart attack on 30 December in Victoria,BC. He was a great friend for the past 50 years and was one of the Shilo gang. He will be sorely missed.
Don & Mary's address/phone number:
Don & Mary Styan 669 Rason Road Victoria, BC V9B 6C6 Phone: (250) 472-8048
Comments: Great site. Came across it while visiting family in Winnipeg. Shilo-ite from 54-65. Recognize some names from my past, but it's been a long time. Best wishes to all for 2010 - and beyond.
Comments: I was in Shilo 1952-1957. I notice that a Sheila Purcell lived at 48 Alfriston 1960 1961. Does any one know her? I didn't know of any other Purcells that lived there but who knows.

Comments: I was in Shilo 1965-1972, grades 2-8. My address was 24 Esquimalt, close to all the schools. I don't see many familiar names in the guest book but I guess more of the posters were there during high school whereas I was there for grade school. I hold many great memories of the base. I visited a few times in the early 80's but haven't been to the Prairies since then. --Charles (csfrost@ncf.ca)
