Comments: On Landmarks there is a picture (recent) of a modern German Tank left there after their return. It isn't a Sherman .. Maybe someone could fix it. Back in the day there were a number of captured German war machines out front but were removed to the Museum out of respect for the German Army when they came to Shilo in the sixties.
Comments: Back again; after looking through the pages I have a question. The name and picture of Wayne Beazley has me thinking. I earlier mentioned a Gillis that lived in 103 Royal may have been a cousin of a driend in Halifax but now I think it is Wayne Beazley. Does any one know where Wayne lived in Shilo? Also, I can also remember (from pictures)a lady that also lived in 103 Royal whose name was Lil. As my 63 year old brain lets out a few more details, I will probably have more info or questions.
Comments: I tried to use this page earlier but it didn't work for me. I just signed up on this site yesterday. I lived in Shilo from 1950/52 until the summer of 1957. We lived at 105 Royal but it does not look anything like I remember when I saw the photo in the gallery. Also, I remember living near the corner of Ubique but when I google the address, it shows further north. I remember the H huts were across the street from us in the camp part. Is there a good street map of Shilo available? I also remember a murder took place not long after we moved there, across Royal in the area near the H huts near a garbage shed. There are so many other questions but I will save them for another time.

Comments: I have been wondering where Earl Langille is, and how he is doing. He and I were good friends while he was still living there, and I haven't heard a word of him since. Hopefully, Diane will check in and let us know.
My Mother (Lois Escel/Dolan) who many of you will remember as PEHS secretary, was out to visit last month (to see youngest kid's Vetavision show at WCVM) and, as always, she remembers the school, the staff and the students with fondness.
Our son-in-law is finishing (Capt. Brendan Clancy) Fire College in Brandon, and does some time with 26th Field and on base at Shilo. He is the unofficial regimental historian for N Sask R, and is really nice to have some continuity from our "home" in the family. Sadly, he lost another good friend (Lt. Justin Boyes) who served his first tour with Brendan as a reserve officer, and joined the regs to do his second tour with the PPCLI. It made remembrance day all that much more personal and sad this year.

Comments: Hi Brian. My Dad was also with 28COD and says he remembers your father Earl very well. Are your father's ashes interred on top of one of the mountain peaks at Siffler Falls? For those that aren't familiar the place, it is near Jasper, AB and is dedicated to the Canadian Airborne. Many Airborne Vetrans converge on the area every June for a yearly cememony. It is truely a beautiful area. Thank you to all our Vetrans.
