Comments: We just got back from a month in the US East coast and inbetween. Granny got to finally experience her first earthshake (we were about an hours drive from epicenter) and himacane...oh this one WAS a her-icane. I was in a nuclear plant when the earthquake hit, and Alexia was panicking a bit because they announced that one of the reactors had to be shut down (was a different site, though) and amused that the locals all thought it was a terrorist bomb!! (I guess not many had any idea that bombs go "boom" once, not "shake" for a few seconds.
When we went to Toronto to visit Arch (Kemp Archibald) he was in his other shop painting a bike and some strange lady came to his door - it was Eveleight! (see grads, Condida '65). What a blast from the past. We spent all day catching up on 42 years of life, travel, kids, etc. She recently retired (mostly UN service in every hotspot for decades) in Ottawa, and those who followed The Nature of Things know that Suzuki retired, so Kemp did as well. He is building cafe racers of '70s flavour if anyone wants a bike from someone with decades of experience dominating his class at Daytona (vintage).
It really makes you appreciate the kind of environment in which we were raised when so many of our alumni have had very rich and sometimes rewarding lives in business, professions, art, etc. No wonder we remember those years so fondly. PEHS and Shilo are a large part of "who we are" today (so my kids know who to blame).
Refering to the two Doug's: Brats even do disease with dignity and humour. Quite a score, when you thing about it.

Comments: Thanks to all who have written to me, both indirectly, on this site, and by directly by email. I appreciate your kind words. There are no "sides" to the dialogue that has occurred. This was not a debate. I believe it was just a misunderstanding. I hold no animosity toward any person involved. In fact, kudos to Nancy for her sympathy and support of people with parkinson's.
I invite everyone to read my blog at
wpgchapdotblogspotdotcom
and join me in my journey. You never know ... there might be insight and information you may need yourself someday. Keep in mind, that for some of us, old age well may be a shipwreck.

Comments: Well said Paul..and it goes for both sides...
Comments: We've all got to learn to be a little less critical of others, at least until we've walked a mile in their shoes. People react to and handle life's challenges in different ways, and our free society guarantees them that right. Have a great long weekend all.
Comments: I was expecting an apology from Nancy Robertson after Doug's explanation. It is certainly warranted.
