We might not be seeing Bill Brown here too often. He fell and broke his hip and one hand. I may have the body parts wrong but I know for certain it was a serious fall. Best wishes. Get better soon.

Would anyone, particularly those still around CFB Shilo area, be interested in leading a team of enthusiastic shilobrats in organizing a SHILOBRATS REUNION during the summer of 2017? We haven't had an all-out one since 2005, and it is time! It's far enough away that we can plan our vacation, and organize properly. If you agree to do this, you will have a number of us to count on, who are dying to help out with all aspects, and we have the previous files and contacts to use to reserve the venue. If you want to know more, or if you can do this, contact any of: Bill Brown, Doug Jordan, Edith Walker, Ken Jenkins or myself. :!party: :!music: :!sun: :!beer:

We have had to make a slight change in our mini-reunion plans. Due to circumstances beyond our control, we have made a reservation instead at the Viscount-Gort, same day, same time. This venue is also across from Polo Park and just across the lane from Olive Garden. I have renewed respect for those who have planned reunions in the past, as it is a fluid situation right up until the event arrives. I hope no one is inconvenienced by this. It might be even better! Lookng forward to see everyone next Thursday. Doug Jordon is bringing his iPad so we will be able to communicate with Gary Paine in Kitchener. :!drink:

Attention - Shilobrats from Brandon, Portage, Selkirk, Steinbach, Shilo, and points between. If you are in Winnipeg on November 18th to see the Jets smoke the Canucks (hopefully), or if you are coming in November 19th to see comedian Kevin Hart do his schtick at the arena, or if you are just coming into shop for Christmas - please consider dropping into Olive Garden (just across from Polo Park) for a visit (and maybe some wine and breadsticks) with former Brats and 2 teachers. Some of us will be bringing some memorabilia, and we may even have a conference call from another Brat in Ontario. We have one "definite maybe" from someone in Minnedosa. Anyone else interested - let me know. It is going to be -3 with a few flurries next Thursday - not that bad. :D

Here's a copy of my letter to the rime Minister:

Honorable Prime Minister, Mr. Trudeau. I implore you to reconsider reducing offensive effort against ISIS. I would remind you that millions of voters like myself voted Liberal in order to defeat the Harper Conservatives, not necessarily to pull out our CF18's out of Syria and IRAQ. After the tragic attack on French citizens on November 13, it would be foolish to assume that the best efforts of the RCMP,CSIS, and the CSE can prevent an attack on the citizens of Canada. Before this happens, the Liberal Government would be wise to step up the effort to defeat ISIS on its own territory. Indeed, the Opposition Party is not opposed to this action. Personally, I would feel ashamed of the Government of Canada backing away from supporting our Global Partners with military effort. Canada has a world reputation for its military contribution and effectiveness in fighting terrorism. Why would you back away now? Certainly, the people of this country will accept a change in your position after watching the terror in Paris. Yours truly, David Kearney,CD

Miss Sheehan and Gerald Brown, two prominent teachers from Shilo still with us, will be together in Winnipeg, at a luncheon to reconnect with Shilobrats, Thursday, November 19, at 11:30 AM at the Olive Garden on Portage Avenue.

Gerald Brown (see ShiloBrats Special Edition on Gerald Brown) and Miss Sheehan (who was part of every generation of PEHS 1950's to 1987) will be present to greet Shilobrats from any decade. Drop by to say hello, or to be part of the luncheon, contact Karen Pollock Middleton at the email address on her posting, to be included in the reservation...and please take photos for ShiloBrats Gallery Reunions Album. :!inlove:
