In September the five Malcolm "kids" got together in Calgary for our first reunion in eight years. We all lived in Shilo for various years between 1965-74 at 27 The Packway and now are all retired waiting for those golden years. It was a great few days catching up on past years and reminiscing more than several times about our time in Shilo. I have separately sent in a photo of this august group for inclusion in the ShiloBrats gallery. How time goes by!

A photo from the afternoon lunch with Miss Sheehan and Mr. Gerald Brown on Nov. 19, is now in Shilobrat Reunions. Mr. Brown, Karen Middelton Pollock, and Doug Jordan who were some of the participants also have Life Was Calling stories in the Special Edition section. Nice to see everyone looking so good. :!clap:

yes I certainly remember the Cowans. The family name. Since now you have reminded. Funny I do not remember clearly the names. Bernice I do remember. The name I mean. Some names do come to mind and others do not. It has been many years. ...I remember very vividly that Mrs. Cowan had a telephone before us. If indeed we had one at our house. Everyone had The 'telly' in mid fifties. ...Also I remember that a family member or a friend would visit in summer and they had a very early antique saloon type sedan car. I never forgot a car. Chuckle. I remember the ' meatheads' generally made their tours around camp in their mid fifties panel trucks. Suburbans now they would be called.
My sister Gale I think would sometimes mention Bernice. After we left Shilo. ... Sometimes I am vague on things I can recall.Most times I am darn good at recall. ...I have pics here of myself in the ones we had done in school but I do not recall the grade or the names of any of my teachers.
Anyway, thanks for the line Rick. Nice to make contact .
Chuckle. Some Xmas times we got gun and holster sets Cap guns. I usually got Gene Autry or Roy Rodgers. Some kids got more of the latest like a Paladin or a Rawhide set. Was that you. ..I will forgive you now for my self centered thoughts and my envy that you received them from Santa.
We must have played 'kick the can' and Cowboys and Indians a lot together around the PMQ houses.
Would you remember two of my brothers. Ernie and Larry. .When we wanted to get rid of my younger bro Larry, we teased him with his middle name Francis. He hated that name.CFB

Would anyone, particularly those still around CFB Shilo area, be interested in leading a team of enthusiastic shilobrats in organizing a SHILOBRATS REUNION during the summer of 2017? We haven't had an all-out one since 2005, and it is time! It's far enough away that we can plan our vacation, and organize properly. If you agree to do this, you will have a number of us to count on, who are dying to help out with all aspects, and we have the previous files and contacts to use to reserve the venue. Thanks to Karen P, Denise P and Gerald Brown for getting Mary T. out for lunch. I was honored to attend. A great teacher is one who speaks to her students in their dreams as I am certain she has done with all of us. Thank you Miss Sheehan. You have been an inspiration.

We might not be seeing Bill Brown here too often. He fell and broke his hip and one hand. I may have the body parts wrong but I know for certain it was a serious fall. Best wishes. Get better soon.
