Remembrance day

Lest we forget…

Take a moment and travel back in the Guestbook to a year ago from page 31 as comments relate to our own family memories of our parents and grandparents involvement.

As a poignant reminder to why we observe Remembrance Day, return to the last page in Memories and read Otter’s Remembrance piece, Tears for the fallen.
Select Memories from the side menu and click on the Last Page link at the bottom.

Then visit Shilobrat Reunions and select Movies from the top menu and watch Edie’s tribute to Remembrance Day 2005, The Year of the Veteran.

In the copy beside the movie you will find two links, one for the history of the poppy as the remembrance symbol, and one to all the war monuments in Canada that serve as memorials to our veterans. Find one near you.

This day is to remember the lives lost for our freedom…and now we also pray for our current troops who continue the battle.

Wear your poppy proud and send a prayer.

What’s New? Select the 08 Sixties Reunion link under News Flash! and check out all of the 08 Reunion pages packed with information and events for the upcoming 08 Sixties Reunion. Follow the arrows at the bottom of the Reunion Home page to guide you through an entertaining unravelling of details even a monkey can see through. (you’ll see what I mean)

Check out the organizers, each one has a specific role and is linked for you to contact regarding any questions or responses for that area.

The Reunion Newsletter will keep you up to date as the Reunion 08 Countdown Clock ticks down.

The online registration form is a convenient way to show your interest to the organizers (to be followed with pesos to count you in)

A monthly Reunion ad will feature a mystery 60’s brat guest, to be guessed, as part of the Who Am I? Name Game. Play along for fun and fabulous outrageous prizes.

Maybe name the monkey?

Check it out and What’s New

Hello John Holmes and everyone who responded to John’s comments. Your questions involved answers from both the web team and reunion committee and came at a time when we were crossing paths working together on some of what you were asking about.

#1 - friend inquiries have been posted in the Guestbook only to disappear into the back pages as new comments are posted. To combat this we created “Who Are You Looking For?” in the InterActive! Forum. Your friend requests stay in place and replies can be made to them. Not everyone who visit’s the site is aware of all the features available, and this is a popular request. As a result of your posting, we are going to give this feature more prominence by adding a direct link on the ShiloBrats Home page once all the reunion info is up and running. There will be a Guestbook announcement when this is in place. Untill then you can still find it in InterActive!

#2 - Bill Brown will contact you for more information regarding the Sheila Rogers program

#3 - ShiloBrats are prominent in the search engine game and as well, a number of the web team and reunion committee members are on both Classmates and Facebook. We are developing a strategy of leaving no stone unturned in the effort to inform Shilo alumni and their friends about the site and events.

Keep those comments and ideas coming.

Sorry, Faye and Bill - I was looking for a posting glitch & inadvertently both deleted Faye's post and added a test private post to Bill's comments. Modern technology, eh?

Hi all;

In response to John Holmes suggestions, I am in the process of arranging a meeting between the Reunion Committee and the Web Page team to discuss a response. I will get back to you all later.

John - there are a number of Shilo "groups" on Facebook that might be used to advertise any upcoming reunions.
