Comments: In memory of every cancer patient, family member, and friend who has lost their battle with cancer, and in honor of those who continue to conquer it! Put this up for 1 hour if you love someone who has or had cancer. Many won't copy and paste. I did. Will you? Much love to those who are ...in the fight!
Comments: Shilo brings back many memories I lived in Shilo in 1947-1950 and still have photos of living in military supplied tents, the Q lines and into the brand new PMQs. My sister Bronwen and brother Ian were both born in Shilo. We returned in 1965 where I finally completed grade 12 in 1966 and then found my way into the military for 22 years and then another 20+ with the Hudson Bay Company and now rest in retirement in Calgary. Although I only lived in Shilo for just over a year the second time around, I was able to visit many times as my father stayed in Shilo until he retired in 1975 and then only to Brandon allowing me to get in many rounds at the Country Club. The yearbooks, photos indeed the total web site is well done and brought back many memories. A part of me will always remain in Shilo.

Comments: Hi to all Shilobrats! I was just checking out "Where did you live", and thought I would let you know that the Dafoe family (Phyllis, Lorraine, Rod, Cheryl and Bryon) lived at 93 Royal from July 1960 to July 1963. Also at 91 Royal was the Hennessey family (Jerry, Brian and a couple other brothers), for the same time period approximately. And same time period again, at either 83 or 85 Royal was the Nickerson family (Sandra and ??). On Ubique were the Findlays (Tony, Bob, Dave, Janice, Francis and Tim), --I believe it was #2 Ubique. At either 4, or 8 were the Pottingers (Gary and siblings) and farther down the street was the Woods family (Sheila). Hope this all helps.
It is 4 a.m., can't sleep, and it's amazing how a mind works -- remembering addresses from my teenage years in Shilo!

Comments: Twenty brats enjoyed a mini-reunion in Shilo this past Friday and Saturday, part of Manitoba homecoming. Pictures and summary coming soon!
Comments: I returned last week from spending 6 weeks in PA, VA, NC, TN & SC. I toured some U.S. Civil War sites including SHILOH, TN. It has the same Hebrew root as "our" Shilo. Check this out: "The boy's name Shiloh \ sh(i)-loh\, also used as a girl's name Shiloh, is pronounced SHY-low. It is of Hebrew origin, and the meaning of Shiloh is "His gift". Also possibly "he who was sent". Biblical: a prophetic name for the Messiah, Shiloh is also significant as the site of a crucial battle in the American Civil War. Shiloh has 3 variant forms: Shilo, Shylo and Shyloh." Thought you'd like to know that li'l fact, Folks! Also saw Gettysburg again (the cyclorama is all restored now, and is breath-taking), as well as Bentonville battlefield (North Carolina) -- site of the South's last hurrah (under General Johnston) before Lee surrendered the Army of Northern Virginia (not the entire Confederate Army) at Appomattox Courthouse, VA a month later in April of 1865. (It is not generally known that the last Confederate fighting element, the frigate CSS Shenandoah, surrendered to the British at Liverpool in November of 1865, after several years of taking on Union shipping in all Seven Seas.)
I'm sorry I couldn't make the reunion at "our" Camp Shilo (Yes, I'm an old-timer, and like the older "camp" prefix better than the new-fangled, post-Hellyer "CFB" prefix Hope everyone had a great time!

Comments: I graduated in 1967. Sorry I can't make it to the reunion, I will be flying to Wpg. next week to spend a week visiting, then traveling west. Bad timing. Thanks to Cindy Buckman Caron for leading me to this site.
Comments: We have the same last name, I left Shilo in 1957, have a sister Sheila, my daughter's birthday is August 27 and this is my "Beatles" birthday year as well, and I would love to be back in Shilo for a visit but other commitments. It doesn't look like many of my vintage signing up. Hope all have a good time.
Comments: Greetings to all the "Shilobrats"! Only lived there for one year - 1960 - but what a year! Absolutely, positively hated my Dad's posting to Ontario! Shilo was the best! I hope that all of you who make it out to the reunion have a great time! Will be thinking of you all even as I celebrate my "Beatle Birthday" on August 27th! "Beatle Birthday"? "Will you still need me, will you still feed me, when I'm __?"
