Comments: 1964, used to hang out with friends at the Coffee Shop after school, always had a cheeseburger, fries and milkshake, then go over to GSH for a game of pool, maybe take a book out of the library, watch a bunch of giddy adults throw gutter balls at the Bowling Alley (was a pin setter there once) and return every couple of nights to watch the new movie at the theatre.
Shilo Homecoming 2010 brings it all back, the Meet n’ Greet at the Canex Canteen, (army slang for Coffee Shop) the final visit to PEHS before it is demolished, a tour of General Strange Hall and dinner at the Golf Club. (remember having peanuts there as a junior) then a visit the next day to Waggle Springs, private property now, but the owner gave permission.
Edie has created a new Special Edition to highlight the Shilo Homecoming 2010 and a new album has been added to the Gallery featuring all the West mini-gatherings

Comments: BTW, I was looking through the "sports" photos today, and noticed a name that rang a familiar bell: LINDA HOLMES. The memory-banks, although somewhat rusty, began to compute -- Linda Holmes was in my class at QE School in Grade 3 or 4 (Miss Warner's class?) Does anyone know where Linda Holmes is nowadays? And where did Pearl Standard get to? I always thought that she had a great name!

Comments: I haven't visited the Brats site for a few weeks until today, but everytime I *do* visit, I am impressed by the professionalism and all the work that obviously goes into this wonderful time-capsule that chronicles several generations of Shilo Brats! GREAT WORK, and congratulations to everyone who helps to make ShiloBrats the Memories Shrine that it is!!!

Comments: I was going through my sister’s ‘box of stuff’ from her Goldeyes swimming years for a Shilo Goldeyes Special Edition we are working on, you know, the ‘box of stuff’ from your Shilo years you know about and say you are going to find and send us stuff. There were ribbons. badges, medals, programs, awards of all kinds…but what is this!…lying in the middle of all this ‘stuff’ was a copy of the Informer, (42 years later) the PEHS newspaper from 1968 - 70, the first edition of the second year of publication. That was the year I returned to Shilo to complete grade 12, oops!, there’s my initials in the gossip column, seems I stole somebody’s girlfriend, and there again on the Student Council. I looked it up in the yearbook, there were 32 members on the Informer staff that year, surely there must be some other copies and ‘gems’ of Shilo history in that ’box of stuff” you know is still around somewhere in your family…looking forward to it.
Comments: Do any ShiloBrats recall seeing German GATES soldiers riding bicycles at CFB Shilo in the years from 1974 to 2000? I have an ex-German Army bicycle from Shilo -- a 1994 Panther -- and I'm looking for any observations or memories of bicycle use during the period of German training. Thanks!
