Comments: Yes Bill, I remember the agonizing scenario of trying to get my hair dry after swimming in the winter !!!! No powerful little hair-dryers back then ... just the towel and shoulder length hair ... seemed we'd never pass inspection to get out of there!! As I recall, and I could be wrong, Cecil & Royalene Hill's mum worked in the gals dressing room. HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone!

Comments: Yes, Cameron, I remember that day. The Ronald and Richard got Caught out in the blizzard, Richard lost a few toes and Ronald his life. It has been a lot of years, but I remember them and the bitter cold.
Comments: I remember Shilo winters and that long walk to the arena to play hockey. When I came home for Christmas during my college years we used to go down in the morning and play for a few hours and then "stroll" back. The next week I would be back in Victoria playing a round of golf and some rugby. Canada is a great place!

Comments: The recent cold snap across most of Canada brought back some memories of winter in Shilo in the early sixties. I don't recall the schools closing even when the temperature reached -40. (Maybe they did-but we like to think that we were much hardier then!)
I do recall how cold those old brown army buses were when riding to Brandon, or other communities for sporting events.
Remember those frost shields that were mounted on the vehicle windo ws to enable a partial view outside?
Remember Snuffy Clark not letting any of us kids leave the swimming pool at the Rec Centre until he confirmed that we had dried our hair?
I remember unsuccessfully trying to ice-fish at Waggle Springs-the ice was too thick for our feeble attempts to cut a hole!
Comments: Thank you Shilobrats for sharing your Christmas photos, for 3 more days until December 31, ShiloBrats will feature your photos as Christmas cards on our cover page. Watch as the cover photo changes every 5 seconds for over 20 photos now, and surprise!...one of them may be you. Check each day to see if new ones have been added. Merry Christmas!
