Turk, Pamela Jane, of Vancouver, BC, died at the age of 48 after a courageous battle with cancer. Pam was born in Winnipeg where her father was stationed as a member of the Canadian Armed Forces. As an army brat she grew up in Shilo, Winnipeg, Oromocto and in Germany and as a child she could never understand how someone could be happy having lived in “only one place”. Her many addresses as a child instilled in her a love of travel that she carried with her throughout her life. After attending UBC, Pam worked in the Canadian investment industry for more than 25 years finishing her career as associate director at Scotia McLeod. Pam was a recognized leader and an inspiration to all that knew her. She was known for the competence and professionalism that earned her much advancement throughout her career, from receptionist to compliance officer, then sales assistant and, for the past several years, regional and national administrative roles. Pam championed the people who worked with her. She trained and mentored countless young people who entered the investment industry and many continued to call on her for advice and guidance throughout their careers. Pam was a positive, beautiful force. Her spirit was so big, her energy so infectious that over the years she attracted a great many friends, colleagues, clients and others, who appreciated her vitality, her warmth, her great sense of humor, her loyalty and her honesty. Pam faced her illness with the same courage and matter-of-factness with which she faced every challenge and she lived her life to the fullest. She treasured time with John and with her family and all her friends and, although she never suffered fools, her bright spark brightened the days of virtually everyone who came in contact with her.

Pam was predeceased by her father, Tom. She is survived by her beloved husband, John Newell, her mother, Jeanne Turk, her sister, Lesley (Don Ferguson), her brothers Tony (Lorrie Siemens) and Michael (Margie), her step-children Hayley, Anthony and Emily Newell. Pam was the special aunt of Jasmine and she loved all of her nieces and nephews, Carol, Christine, Donny, Sandra and Thomas and great nieces and nephews Caitlyn, Bizzy, Camille, Zachary and Ethan.

Pam’s friends are invited to celebrate her life at 6:30 p.m., Friday, September 22 at Hollyburn Country Club, 950 Crosscreek Road, West Vancouver, BC

In lieu of flowers, to honour Pam memorial gifts may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, …..

Just touching base. Had some computer problems, lost most things, but new computer is in place and we are up and running again. New E-mail address as well, so if anybody was trying to contact me, please do so at the new address. Hope all is well with everyone from all eras. I guess I'll include the teachers as well(just kidding). I couldn't have made it this far without them.

Hello brats! summer is over, and the ShiloBrats site team are ready to launch a new look and the beginning of many new additions to this already amazing site.

ShiloBrats hasn't been upgraded for a while now because it simply ran out of space on the old server. Our site has been moved to a new server with additional space and is now ready to activate new additions, photos and memories of Shilo alumni.

Next week a new Home Page will alert you to the beginning of a continuing program to keep ShiloBrats fresh, entertaining, and more interactive as *The Place to Call Our Own*...so keep visiting and watch for Guestbook announcements alerting you to new additions.

...and don't be shy, the Guestbook was meant to be lively, what brings you back, and what would you like to see added, tell us here!

Otterkins - Didn't know it was your birthday, so belated "HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!" So, sorry, but I didn't know when your birthday was until I went on the site and I guess you have never really told me. My friends never forget my birthday as I was born on "Ground Hog Day" (Feb 2) and get a lot of joking about how many weeks of winter are left..........
