Comments: Hello everyone from Vancouver Island. The summer has finally appeared and blues skies are back, and so is the heat. After a winter that we had I think this is a very welcome sight indeed. My wife and I moved out here from Calgary in 1998 after a year of hell in 1996. I lost my Dad to cancer and Joni lost her Mom to MS. We have not looked back since. 3 of our kids live in Victoria, and my oldest son still lives in Calgary with his wife and kids. After joining the Air Force in 1968 I did get to see the world up until 1982. Things in my life changed dramatically then. We did attend the 25 year reunion in Shilo, I don't know if any of you remember me being there, but we were there. I enjoyed it. I now am retired, my wife is a Postmaster at Honeymoon Bay Post office, and my mother lives in the other half of our house. I anyone is looking for a weekend away from the grind, come on out. We will BBQ, have a few, reminisce about old times.

Comments: Just letting you all know, my mother, Denise Marsden, passed away yesterday at age 78, July 01, 2007, may she rest in peace. Some of your folks may remember her. The family is doing fine. My Mom suffered with Alzheimers and Osteoporosis so she is free of pain now. Dad (Monte Marsden 81) has helped with many eulogies with the Veterans and says he is really busy answering phone calls and emails. He belonged to 28 COD, went to WWII, retired 25 years. Mom used to be Shilo's hairdresser until moving in 1967. The military life sure made strong people, ay? Bye for now, thanks.
