Comments: I remember Mrs Green very well. I was a lifeguard at General Strange Pool and had many occasions to have a chat and a gossip with her....such a wonderful person! She will be sorely missed by so many. My deepest condolence to her family at this very sad time.

Comments: Hello. I just found out about this site. My family lived in Shilo in 1966-67. We lived on Frontenac Cres. I went to O'Kelly. Frasiers lived in the other side of the Duplex with us. Except for the haircuts, it was a great place to grow up as a kid.

Comments: Yes Faye, I did actually meet & marry (Aug. 4, 1979) my military sweetheart in Shilo. Thanks to fellow army brat, Barb Scott-Gilfoy & her then military boyfriend, Dennis Tomlin. They hooked us up on a blind date almost 35 years ago (Feb. 21, 1976). Bob Rabideau has been the love of my life ever since. )

Comments: Some of us who were in elementary school in the early 60's (while Greenwood school was under construction) attended temporary schools in H-huts called D-5 and A-2--I think they were officially part of PEPS (at least that's what my report cards say). Both have disappeared without a trace. My dad also used the term "CB'd" (confined to barracks). I never heard the expression "grounded" until we lived in a civilian community.
Comments: in Germany one of the army words were "living on the economy" when you didn'thave enough points to get a P M Q . maybe that was everywhere but I was just thinking about how many Points you had to have to get a house PMQ We moved alot in such a short time, in my 14 years before we got posted to Soest Germany in 1965, we were in Shilo, Petawawa,Shilo. The Peg, Shilo; and then Ottawa for a year. That was a lot of packing for my Mum.lol She would just get unpacked and everything in order and Dad would come home and say " let's go you got 2 months". I can see her face today. LOL
