Belated Christmas wishes and an early Happy New Year to all Brats! Our eldest hosts Christmas now, and both families spent the whole day playing with our first grand child. 2012 will be the first year since the late 80s that we will have only one child in school. Our youngest will be looking for her first permanent job in a vet practice somewhere nearby and our eldest has left grad school (still to defend her masters thesis) to pick up a teaching degree so she can deal with little kids instead of big ones for a while. Alexia and her youngest sister (Joanne Forke) have our daughters in NYC this week as a grad celebration for the youngest and will be returning to repair the damage left by we menfolk and their menagerie later today.

Our best wishes for health happiness to follow all of you and your families in the New Year.

It's 11 p.m. here. We have been to our daughters house for supper with our son and his kids. Gifts are under the tree, stockings have been hung with
care, eyes are getting heavy....time to lay down for a long winters nap and
