Comments: Camp Shilo brings back memories at Christmas. Our family lived at 25 Sapper for five years, posted from Winnipeg. In 1969 my grade five teacher was Mrs. Archibald on the second floor of Greenwood School. The music teacher was Mrs. McKinnon, and the phys-ed teacher Mr. Bender. Brandon was a long way away in those days, via a gravel low road or out to the Trans-Canada through Douglas. The catalogues from Eaton’s and Simpson-Sears were very important; as was the daily jaunt to the post-office to get the mail. I remember when the new General Store would open in the Base-Exchange plaza. Royal Avenue would be trimmed with stars on each light standard. The Girl-Guides would sell Christmas tree’s. We would have a visit from Santa in one of the drill halls. If you went for a walk across the prairie at night one could see the ‘Aurora Borealis’ or Northern Lights. Midnight Mass was celebrated at Our Lady of Shilo, or St. Barbara’s Protestant Chapel. In that year there had been the October Crisis in Quebec, many had been called for the emergency that resulted in tragedy. Shilo is a small town where everyone knew each other, and we all had parents who worked for DND. Greetings to all this holiday, Merry Christmas. Thomas Frank Smith; Windsor Ontario Canada.

Comments: 1959-65 seems like a long time ago, but when I read the website and the guest book, I feel as though I am with old friends again.
Warmest Christmas wishes to you all; may you have a peaceful celebration with you families and friends, and may the joy of the season fill your hearts.
For the New Year, loads of good health, much happiness, and success in all your adventures.
If you are passing through, or live in Winnipeg, please do give me a call. I would love to have coffee and catch up on old times.
I have just compiled two large 2 inch ring binders of correspondence, photos, newspaper clippings, et al dating from the 1980's when you people wrote to me over the years. What an interesting review of friendships ! I've recently shared them with Mary T. Sheehan, Marvin Gordon, Walter Bohonos, and Jean MacKinnon. They have enjoyed reading about you too. Will continue to add to the binders, and ultimately they will go to the Archives at Brandon University under the heading Education in South West Manitoba. That's where I put all the stuff that I compiled for the last big reunion we had. Apparently some folks have been checking on the Archives lately for names on pictures etc.
Again, warmest good wishes to all.
Gerald Brown, Teacher ... Grades 6 & 8, Library, & Music across several grades in O'Kelly and Greenwood Schools.

Comments: Every brat out there have a MERRY CHRISTMAS & a safe & HAPPY NEW YEAR
Comments: Steve Brown was a good guy. When he first move to Shilo he wore these pointed toe shoes. He would walk around kicking at us. We ended up nicknaming him "the foot expert". One thing he did have was a hot sister Sandy, she was a sweetie.
