This movie was inspired by a few old photos from my Mother’s little album “Snaps and Scraps of my Service Days” (my mother joined the CWACs in 1943 and served until the unit was disbanded in 1946). It ‘stars’ mum & dad, and you’ll see a collection of British, Scottish, American and Canadian soldiers. The music is lots of fun ! Oh ... I did snitch a photo from the ’66 Stag .... you may recognize Major McLean ! I needed a ‘chest of medals’!

The Canadian Women's Army Corps (CWACs) were established on August 13, 1941. At first they were called the Canadian Women's Auxiliary Corps. On March 13, 1942 they were inducted into the Canadian Army and became the Canadian Women's Army Corps. Since women were not allowed to enter in combat of any kind the CWACs worked as secretaries, clerks, canteen workers, vehicle drivers and many other non-combat military jobs. Even though the women could do the jobs just as good or better then the men they were only paid 2/3 of what the men were paid (this figure later became 4/5). In August 1946 the CWACs were disbanded and were reconstituted on March 22 1948.
The CWACS were disbanded for good in 1964.
