Comments: It is indeed a small world. On my street I have two neighbours who served in Shilo about the time I was there. One was a "boy soldier" with the Apprentice Battery. He and his wife (who was a nursing sister) served full careers and are now living retirement on beautiful Vancouver Island.

Comments: Recently, I was again reminded that it's a small world in which we reside.
On my walk to the garbage bins in our townhouse complex, I stopped to chat with a neighbour whom I hadn't met before. Early in our conversation, he mentioned "when I was in the military in Manitoba". Of course, I asked where-and of course, he said Shilo! Turns out he served for almost 25 years-much of it with the RCA.
I think it was an hour before I finally got to the garbage bin...once again, that little speck on the prairies casts its wide web!

Comments: Hello! I was so happy to find the "ShiloBrats" web page last night when I was online researching Shilo and was excited to explore it and happily found a photo of the PMQ my family lived in, as well as my uncle/aunt/cousins' house, when dad was posted to Camp Shilo in 1952. We lived at 24 Esquimalt Crescent and I'd love to add our name as having lived in the house from 1952 - 1960 when dad was posted to Camp Borden, Ontario. This is a fantastic site and my mom was thrilled when I told her about it. She is 93 now and over the years we often talked about when we lived in Shilo and how it was such a safe and carefree life raising children there.
