Reading Faye's Father's day note got me to thinking that we 60's Brats were fortunate to have several male role models and mentors in addition to our Dads that postively influenced a generation of Shilobrats; i.e. Ivan Trail, "Snuffy" Clark, Gerald Brown, W/O Howie and many other great gentlemen gave freely of their time and energy towards making Shilo a great place for young people to grow and spread their wings!

Haven't been able to visit in a while, since it is our busy season and I am off to anyplace someone needs to install a new (large) power transformer. Lots of new equipment to get built for this season for USA but mostly for resource boom in SK. Since this is probably my last summer in PA (close to my Grandfather's birthplace in Lancaster) Alexia will probably duck out on her summer company and come with me.

The big news here is after all of these years, we are finally grandparents. About 05:40 CST Friday June 03 Hudson Michael made his appearance to Mom & Dad, Capt. Brendan and Johanna (Dolan) Clancy - our eldest. He is the first grandchild for both families, so will suffer horribly from too much attention, I fear. Mom and baby are doing fine, but Dad may rupture sternum from expanded chest (and that would be a disaster since he must be photographed this week as one of the pinups on fire fighters calendar). Mom is going to "take it easy" by leaving grad school to pick up an education degree and follow in Mom and Aunt Joanne (Forke)'s footsteps and teach for a while. She has been teaching music and dance to young children for a while and really enjoys it. So, Granny gets to do the child care thing all over again on days that Dad is at work and Mom is at school. I did not hear any complaints. Joaunt (another PEHS alumnus) will retire end of this school year to pitch in.

My Mother, Lois Excell is here to visit her first "full" great grandchild (my step sister has a nearly grown "grand-family";) and sends all of her best to the Shilo brats she remembers so fondly.
